Night Photography - Photo Stacking

To create Star Trails you could do a long continuous exposure but you could find the highlights overexpose.

Photo Stacking is made by taking hundreds of photos and combining them to create one image.

I used an Olympus EM5 II to do this for me.

It simply takes multiple photos and combines them for you.

You could also use software to combine the separate images

I used the following settings:

Olympus - Live Comp

  • ISO 100
  • 10 seconds per frame each photo added to the next for 1 hour
  • Aperture f/1.8
